my darling

The Way of the Gun (2000): they get an A for effort, but the movie was just too busy and because it didn't flow well, it started to get hard to follow everything and everyone. also, unlike other movies such as snatch or ocean's 11/12 that are also very busy, the characters weren't very unique which would have made you want to really follow what is going on with everyone. the end is very reminiscent of butch cassidy and the sundance kid, but not really. wonder if they had that in mind while shooting/writing. i have to cut off the line between buying and seeing somewhere, so i think this would be that line. del toro is always perfect and that curly hair sue guy married to reese witherspoon ain't bad either. see it.

Soul Survivors (2001): a pretty dumb movie that one of my co-workers wanted me to see cuz its her favorite. first of all, for me to like a scary movie, it better be next to perfect and 100% original. this movie isn't even worth writing a review about. are they trying to pull a sixth sense storyline? did they purposely make it not scary or suspenseful? the movie is very slow and takes forever to actually get to the point. and when the big surprise comes at the end (that she is really dead.) you are hardly left surprised at all. i'm perplexed how someone could rave and rant about such an awful movie, but then again, i like a ton of movies that many hate. don't see.

i think all dreams, good and bad, could be considered nightmares. either way you lose because if it is a scary dream, then its self explanatory why that would suck. but if its a good dream, its generally about something that you want and can't have. its basically a terrible way of teasing us. like watching a movie about what your life could be. had one of those very dreams last night and wanted so bad to not let go of it that i just woke up once the dream was over to stay awake so i could remember every detail. dream was interesting because this event happened which was amazing, then the next day i had jumped like 6 months later, so i never got to see the immediate effects that event had on my life. so its like the event happened, but then it didn't. like putting a piece of the richest chocolate ever into your mouth, but never being able to actually taste it because after your mouth closes you are living in the next day. so basically all dreams suck. except for fleetwood mac's version.

on that topic, went to buy a cd today and was headed straight for a stevie nicks cd i've been wanting for some time. ended up getting one of the new brighteyes cds instead, so i think it was a good trade off. my bro sent me a few cds he made with some interesting music on them. so far i'm really digging zeke and turbo negro. i still have some more to listen to so i'll report back if anything else strikes my fancy.

as far as my bro goes, the link o' the day is kinda for him. its compliments of matt by the way, but it basically tells you what hit song of '04 you are. i ended up being that sorry blink 182 song. hopefully you'll end up being something a little better than that. reason its for my bro is because the quiz is gonna force him to choose that he listened to =w=eezer last year.

snowboarding yesterday ended up being one of the worst experiences so far. for the first half of the day the snow was just packed as tight as could be. by the second half it was turning into mush. one of the only three lifts that sundance has was shutdown. i fell once in this pretty secluded area and nearly went off a cliff (no joke). that fall made me scrape my face on the snow which gave me a nice cut on my chin. after cleaning the blood off my gloves i decided to punish that biotch of a mountain and shed the crap out of it. did so until about 2:30 when she pulled a fast one on me and i was on my face again. this time with the wind knocked out of me. wish i could say that the fight was a draw, but robert redford's hometown i think did me in. its cheap, but won't be going back there for a while. so today the right side of my head is throbbing even after i'm dosed up on excedrin.

just got back from million dollar baby. gotta think about this one before the review, so i'll get back to you. however, eastwood, freeman, and swank all the way tomorrow night!
